About Us
“Friends of Bijnor” (FOB) is a group of well-wishers and supporters that supports the developmental activities of the Diocese of Bijnor, situated in the northern part of India, through their psychological, spiritual and material assistance. The diocese of Bijnor is spread across 6 civil districts of Uttarakhand, namely, Pauri-Garhwal, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Haridwar, Uttarkashi and New Tehri and 1 civil district of Uttar Pradesh, namely, Bijnor. The Carmelite Missionaries (CMI) from Kerala, a South Indian state, came to this land in 1972 to spread the good news of love and prosperity. Since then, the work of God is being materialized through the missionary community by means of education, healthcare, sheltering the abandoned, social upliftment programmes and the like. We never stop doing good for people in need; irrespective of their caste, creed or ethnicity. We see Jesus in every needy person. The words of Christ, “whatever you did to the least of my people, you did it unto me”, strengthen us to do our service with full dedication and commitment.
FOB is thus a social media platform, through which many like-minded people connect with each other for a common cause, aiming at the good of the people of Bijnor! It was founded by Most Rev. Bishop Gratian Mundadan CMI, the founding Bishop of Bijnor. His aim was to bring all those kind-hearted people on a common platform, where they could share their joys with the suffering brethren of this part of the globe. The organization is a Florida registered charitable organization, USA. It was, in the past, very active and dynamic in raising resources for the developmental programmes of Bijnor. In the recent past, it was not functioning as it used to be due to the transfers and migrations of many of its members. Hence, as per the personal interest of Bishop Vincent Nellaiparambil, the current Bishop of Bijnor, we resolved to reboot the organization. Hence, there took place a make over of the old FOB website. This website will work as the medium of coming together of all the Friends of Bijnor.
