Future Challenges

Bijnor Diocese has grown substantially since its founding in 1972. Over the years, various institutions of prayer, education, social uplift, health care etc. were built to serve the needs of the local communities. For the most part, the priests and the religious sisters undertake the work and manage the daily challenges in all the endeavours. They heavily rely upon the resources they receive from their well-wishers and materialize them for the welfare of the society. It should be noted here that whenever a natural calamity like earthquake, cloudburst, flash flood etc. take place, it’s the missionary community that reaches the affected people first and provides them with necessary assistance. The community continues to accompany them with sustenance and rehabilitation programmes.

However, there are challenges ahead! There are yet unexplored areas in the diocese where we could not do much of our social uplift programmes due to the insufficiency of resources. We believe that the Lord, who brought us from nothing to what we are today – through the instrumentality of hundreds of our well-wishers – will surely provide us with the necessary resources on the right time, in the right way, so that we can expand our missionary activities of uplifting the people of those regions as well. Similarly, we believe that the Lord who was pleased with the ‘widow’s mite’ will graciously look upon the formation programme of our young seminarians and religious women, who eventually will have to carry out His good work, intended at the good of all…
